Quality product, with the right raw material, the long way in a short time in the felt sector: Polifelt

We talked about the felt sector with Ahmet Demir, CEO of Polifelt, who said that he wants to add all of the processed textile wastes within Politeks Elyaf to the felt industry. Politeks Elyaf, which carries out important studies on the recycling of non-hazardous wastes, guarantees quality, price and timely supply in its products. Demir, CEO of the company, which is very committed to its principles, said, “We started this business 6 months ago, but the point we have reached is quite satisfactory.” He said and added: “Using the right machinery and finding the right raw material supplier was the key.”

You have reached very impressive achievement for only 6 months. What was the most correct thing that you did in that period and how did you apply it?

First of all, I can say that the most important thing in this business is to use the machine correctly. Buying the right machine and working it appropriately adds value the business you made. Also it gives both time and function. Moreover,  we became successful in a shorter time by providing raw materials by companies manufacturing felt as Polteks Elyaf.

When you first started to work, you were producing in a single line. Within 6 months, you set up your second line due to the demands. What was your secret that caused your production to increase in such a short time?

It was very important to start this kind of business with an experienced team that has been in this sector for years. We took the first step with qualified staff. As a result, we made the right planning and focused all of our mind  on the customer. One of the most important benefits of starting with experienced people was to continue our work in the same direction. We followed the process one on one and it enabled us to reach our goal in a short time.

“The quality of the product is our red line”

I am curious about the most important thing that distinguishes your products from other companies. What is the primary reason customers choose you and What do you think you are doing better than your competitors?

The most important factor for us is quality. Our attitude towards quality is extremely clear. From the production stage of the product until it reaches the customer, we do our job quickly and maintain our quality until the last moment. We aim for high capacity, but this does not mean that we will compromise on quality. Our red line is the quality of the product.

You said that one of the biggest points of your success is that you do not compromise on quality. This opinion will undoubtedly grow your target markets. In this sense, I want to find out which countries are in your export portfolio. First of all, which countries are your target markets and what is the rate in your exports to your total sales?

As you said, the fact that we do not compromise on quality has given us a lot of opportunities in export. In this way, we work with many countries mainly in Europe. These countries include Romania, Poland, England and Russia. Exports make up 40% of our current sales. This rate is very satisfying for us for now.

Especially considering the year 2020, it is very valuable to reach a rate of 40% in exports. A bad year for many industries due to the pandemic was quite favorable for you.

Yes, last year has been a year of investment for us. We joined the sector in 2020, but in a short time we became a sought-after and preferred brand. We reached our goals even during the pandemic year that affected almost everyone.

I congratulate you on this success. Do you want to highlight all these about your company, your products or the industry?

We plan to double our production capacity by opening the second felt line of our company approximately 2 months later. We want to manage our work efficiently and become the preferred brand in the sector. It seems quite clear that we will achieve our goal if we proceed this way.
