During our sit-down with Milkay Teknik Tekstil’s General Manager, Abdullah Nursaçan, we dug into the nuts and bolts of the company’s production processes, tech investments, sustainability policies, and export strategies!

The largest felt producer in the region
Milkay Teknik Tekstil was established in 1995 and manufactures felts and pads used in spring mattresses, spring sofas, automotive, furniture and insulation sectors. In the period since the establishment of your company, how have you developed in the sector and how do you evaluate your current position?
“In the early years, our company focused on meeting customer needs and started to gain a place in the sector with its quality products and timely delivery.

With a daily felt production capacity of 150 tons, you are the largest and only large-scale company in your region. What are the advantages of this production capacity for your customers and the sector?

Your product portfolio includes felts and paddings for different sectors. Can you give information about the products you offer especially for the mattress and furniture sectors and the features of these products?
“As Milkay Teknik Tekstil, we have a wide felt and padding product portfolio for different sectors. Mattress and furniture sectors constitute an important part of our products. We would be pleased to provide information about the products we offer for these sectors and their features:
• Mattress Spring Felts: These are felts that are placed on the mattress springs, preventing the springs from being felt and extending the life of the mattress. They can be produced in different densities and thicknesses.
• Mattress Edge Felts: These are felts that support the edges of the mattresses and prevent them from deforming. It contributes to a smoother and more aesthetic appearance of the mattress.
• Mattress Quilting Felts: These are felts that are placed under the mattress fabric, adding fullness and comfort to the mattress. They can be produced in different patterns and thicknesses.
• Flame Retardant Felts: Special felts used to ensure fire safety in mattresses. It slows down the spread of a possible fire by delaying flammability.
• Automotive Felts: Apart from the mattress industry, we serve with the felts we produce in the automotive sector.
• White Goods Felt: As a result of our recent R&D studies, we also supply the white goods sector.”

• Automatic Fiber Blending and Mixing Systems: Automatically blends and mixes different fiber types (natural, synthetic, recycled, etc.) to ensure a homogeneous blend. This improves product quality and consistency.
