Earl Kluft is dedicated to developing enduring personal sleep luxury. Earl and his world-class artisans at Kluft use tried and tested methods to provide the ultimate sleep experience and unparalleled luxury for those dedicated to having the best of everything.
Earl, the original innovator of the personal luxury mattress, has now innovated the next generation of personal luxury mattresses – combining old world craftsmanship and unique advanced technology. It’s a winning combination. With an awarded U.S. patent for mattress design, E. S. Kluft (and Aireloom) is the only manufacturer to achieve this new standard in mattress design. It totally changes the way a luxury mattress is crafted! The result is: the mattress is allowed to function properly (adapt and react as needed) and the body is allowed to relax. Thus, a restful, healthier sleep is enjoyed.
Earl Kluft is a third generation mattress master who designed and innovated the original modern luxury mattress:
Chattam & Wells* and the Spring Air Four Seasons*. His passion for perfection – with his own values and ways of working – leading to U.S. patents for design – is the inspiration behind Kluft’s hallmark of quality.
With their unique proprietary constructions – and now, a U.S. patent for design – Earl’s Kluft designs conform to your body, providing proper body balance, pressure relief and optimum sleeper support.
In today’s world, quality of sleep affects our performance – how we feel physically and psychologically. A good night’s sleep has become not only more desirable, but absolutely essential – if we are to function at our best.
Located at the foot of majestic mountains in Rancho Cucamonga, Southern California – on a six acre manufacturing site that was once a wine vineyard – E. S. Kluft & Company is dedicated to producing enduring personal sleep luxury. And no mattress celebrates this standard more than the handmade Kluft mattress. World-class craftsmen use tried and tested methods to provide an unparalleled sleep experience – leading to a better life – for those dedicated to having the best.

Product Design: Synchronized Support Mattress Construction
Kluft’s luxurious mattresses are entirely handmade and feature a synchronized support system that provides a balanced and pressure-relieving sleep surface. 8 way hand-tied foundations, English outer tufting, hand-stitched side walls and matching self welting – applied by skilled artisans truly separates this fine quality product from others.
Today’s Kluft designs CONFORM to your body – with their unique constructions – mattress motion and partner disturbance is dissipated, proper body balance is nurtured, optimum pressure relief is provided – meaning the mattress is ABLE to adapt and react to the sleeper. Resulting in a more restful sleep.
Outer fabrics, unique quilting designs, filling materials and coil systems have been carefully and intelligently combined to further your health and comfort in every Kluft bed: including the highest quality Belgian jersey knits and damask fabrics, New Zealand Joma® wool, pure staple cotton, and Talalay® Latex foam.
STEP I
(Preparing the mattress body.)
1. Patent-pending border design stitching used to create open mattress chamber.
2. Applying full mattress insulation wrap to foam encasement and “nested” coil unit for ultimate comfort, preventing sleeper “roll off “, providing a superior seating edge.
3. Border design sidewall being attached to foam encasement creating an “open chamber” for upholstery to be layered in separately.
STEP II
(Upholstering the mattress body.)
4. High density materials layered in the open chamber at the base of the sleep system for superior body support.
5. Layers and layers of natural upholstery are added to chamber allowing superior conforming to the body.
6. Belgian damask cover added. Mattress is squared and “pinned” to insure proper tailoring and an exceptional sleep surface.
STEP III
(The hand-stitching of the mattress body)
7. Experienced craftsmen tailor the mattress closed with matching self-welting.
8. English outer tufting secures the upholstery to provide maximum mattress.
