Karmel targets to export to 40 countries

Manufacturing its first machinery eight years ago, Kar Machinery now sells its products to world markets. The company recently started to manufacture long arm tufting machine, first in Turkey.

Selcuk Varli, general director of Karmel Machine International, introduced his company and its activities.

 On history of the company

We have been producing machinery for eight years and we have been exporting them via Karmel Machine International company.  The first machinery we built was full automatic mattress wrapping machine, one of the difficult to produce kind. Later on, we built, manual tape edge machinery and automatic tape edge machinery. This was new in Turkey, and our first sale of it to a firm in Samsun was a milestone for our company. Karmel Machine International Company was established to expand our activities in export markets.

On other machinery that company built

Automatic mattress production line and other machinery have been manufactured by our company. Recently, we made long arm tufting, the first in Turkey. Many firms in Europe use this machine. We are in communication with some prospects in England. We got demand for 8 machines from Latvia. We will complete automatic multi-needle chainstitch quilting machine, soon. This will be the fastest in Turkey. Electronic systems and software for this machinery are done in our factory. That speeds up our service operations.

On export operations and expectations

Presently, we export to 26 countries, including Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Ethiopia, Kosovo, Ukraine, Dominic Republic and America. Our target is to sell to 40 countries by the end of the year.

We want to improve our share in both domestic and foreign markets. We have come a long way in machinery production in Turkey. Made in Turkey machinery are now known well in many countries. We want to represent the industry in world markets. Our target is to become one of the important machinery manufacturers in our region by 2020.
