Kar-as Board Member Önder Aslan told our magazine about ISPA EXPO 2022; evaluated the contributions of the fair to the sector, its expectations from the fair as a company and the export capacity of the sector to the USA.
Describing ISPA as the meeting point of the international industry, Önder Aslan said at his interview; “As you know, ISPA is one of the most important fair actors of our sector. Many of the shipments that China could not make to the United States due to some international problems shifted to manufacturers in Turkey. This naturally made our country a commercial transition zone between the two countries. Now, we can see the ISPA Fair as the central meeting point for the export of our sector to increase even more. Especially in the long term, the contribution of this fair will be high.”
Aslan, describing the expectations of Kar-as from the fair by saying “We believe it will be good for our company. In addition to being a country with a large population, the USA is the center of technology giants. Naturally, it is not difficult to foresee that the demand will be high. Of course, container problems should be resolved as soon as possible”, mentioned the influences that the mattress components sector will make in the USA market “There are dozens of manufacturer participants from different countries; it is not possible to predict how ISPA will directly add momentum to Turkey. But right now, all countries in the world have a high demand for Turkey. Of course, the USA is among these demanding countries. I think ISPA will also have a positive effect on this. We hope that in the coming years, the exports of our country, our industry and our company to the USA will increase even more.” He said.
Mentioning the fairs that were canceled due to the pandemic, Kar-as Board Member, at the end of his speech said “The pandemic period, of course, negatively affected life in every sense, and naturally all sectors got their share from this situation. The cancellation of the fairs was one of the factors that negatively affected the sectors. Due to the structure of our industry, fairs are a must. Normalizing the fairs will contribute positively to our exports.”
