As it is known Turkish Standards Institute has been signing special contracts with companies who have acceptable facilities for the special tests required certain certifications as subcontractors. Recently, quality control laboratory of Isbir company was assigned as the authorized test facility for synthetics.
In Isbir laboratory every type of physical tests of big bags, the product used as industrial packaging materials, will be carried out at all stages of production from yarn to end product. Other tests are also made in the lab of fabrics and yarns made of polypropylene and polyethylene. Tests that can be made in the lab covers, top lift, compression, UV resistant, stacking, drop, tear, topple and righting tests for big bags used both hazardous and non-hazardous materials packaging.
Melt flow index, tensile strength and creeping, thickness and other characteristics of the materials are also checked in the lab.
“Some of the tests for certifications could not be carried out in its own labs of TSE, Turkish Standards Institute. In those cases, tests are outsourced to subcontractors. Through this kind of agreements, the Institute and Turkish economy save costs of controls, because, otherwise they had to be done by foreign contractors in abroad,” said, Metin Gultepe, CEO of Isbir Holding Co.
