IBIA President Osman Güler: We are going to Interzum with a strong IBIA team

IBIA President Osman Güler said that 40% of IBIA members will take part in Interzum Cologne Fair as exhibitors.

Making a statement before the fair, IBIA President Güler said that organizing the fair after 4 years is an opportunity for all participants and that they will make good use of this opportunity as Turkish exhibitors. Osman Güler, who stated that there was a 40% participation from IBIA member companies, promised that they would be at the fair with a strong team as the association and that they would be on the material and moral side of the member companies. Stating that the fair is a kind of educational space for entrepreneurs and designers, Osman Güler explained the Interzum targets of the IBIA Association with the following words; “This year, we will hold preliminary meetings to increase our Interzum participation, which consists of 50 companies, to 75 companies. In the fair that will be held later in 2025, our members who cannot participate as individuals, the IBIA Association will rent a large area and divide it into small stands, on the condition that they undertake all the organizations as the Management, and will give all its members the opportunity to exhibit their products at the fair.

Why is Interzum Fair important for the IBIA Association?

Interzum, the world’s leading bedding, furniture sub-industry products and interior design fair, is an effective meeting place where you can exchange ideas and products by being aware of products and industry trends. This fair is the organization that hosts well-known brands in the world at the same center. It has the feature of being a fair organization that offers unique opportunities to open up to new markets in export, to increase your brand awareness and creative activities.

Some sector groups at Interzum Fair; bed technology and components, furniture industry, interior and exterior decoration services, designers, digital printing technologies. The event, which is a training center for entrepreneurs, designers and architects, will offer good opportunities for commercial relations and important business deals. In the last fair, the organization brought together more than 10,000 exhibitors in an area of ​​190,000 square meters and hosted 74,000 visitors.

We can say that this fair is the most effective fair in the world where you can see the highest level of technological machinery and mattress components for the mattress production sector in 5 different halls (9, 10.1, 10.2, 11.1, 11.2 halls). It is a unique opportunity to see machine and component manufacturers, which are many world brands of mattress manufacturers, together.

While we are generally third in terms of the number of exhibitors from Turkey, we, as mattress supplier industry and technology manufacturers, have a second largest participation in this fair after the host country.

As IBIA Association, we support this fair and 40% of our members participate directly in this fair.

Can you tell us about your support to Turkish companies that show up at Interzum?

We are going to Interzum Fair to be held between 9-12 May with a strong IBIA and IBIA EXPO team.

As in all fairs where our members participate, we will be by their side at the Interzum fair and act as a bridge between our members and visitors. Our IBIA stand in 11 halls will be their home.

As the IBIA management, we plan to expand our cooperation with the bilateral dialogues we will hold with the Interzum management.

By collaborating between IBIA EXPO and Interzum Fair, we will accelerate our efforts to bring more exhibitors and visitors to both fairs.

This year, we will hold preliminary meetings to increase our Interzum participation, which consists of 50 companies, to 75 companies. In the fair that will be held after 2025, the IBIA Association will give the opportunity to our members, who cannot participate as individuals, to exhibit their products at the fair by renting a large area and dividing it into small stands, provided that they undertake all the organizations as the Management.

We have planned meetings with many brand value companies in order to increase the number of participants abroad for our IBIA EXPO Fair, which will be held for the second time between September 28 and October 1. We will tell them about our IBIA EXPO fair and give them the opportunity to exhibit their products in Istanbul.

Do you expect Interzum Cologne Fair to have a direct or indirect impact on IBIA EXPO 2023?

Interzum 2021 Fair, which could not be held due to the pandemic, will positively affect this year’s fair. For four years, mattress manufacturers and suppliers could not come together. The fair, which will take place between 8-12 May 2023, will be an opportunity for mattress manufacturers and companies that provide technology and components to them.

The fact that such a large organization will attract so much attention and that the Turkish companies participating in this fair will subsequently participate in IBIA EXPO 2023 means that Interzum Fair will have an indirect impact on IBIA EXPO 2023, though not directly. In short, I believe that we, as Turkish companies, will get our share from this. In addition, the Turkish export sector will take its share and increase the angle of the upward trend.
