In our interview with Erhan Karakaşlar, General Manager of GizGroup, we gained valuable insights into the company’s industry position, production processes, sustainability commitments, and future roadmap.

We produce all bed accessories under one roof
GizGroup stands out as the only company in Türkiye that can produce all mattress accessories in a single facility. What are the advantages of this comprehensive production capacity for your customers and the industry?
“First of all, as GizGroup, it is a source of honor for us to be able to meet all the needs of our customers in terms of bed accessories. If we need to evaluate the advantages on customer basis; first of all, since the order is transferred to a single company, easy order follow-up is one of the biggest advantages. As it is known, mattress production is multi-stage and accessories are needed at the last stage. For this reason, accessory deadlines should be long enough not to disrupt bed production and should not make the manufacturer a victim. When all accessories are supplied from a single company, they all have the same deadline, so ease of planning for the manufacturer is the second of the major advantages.”

“Our quality control process runs parallel to production”
You state that your products are meticulously prepared from the design stage to delivery. How do you ensure quality control and customer satisfaction in this process?
“Since the year we started this business, our priority has always been sincerity and customer satisfaction. We strive to produce the products demanded by our customers in the expected quality and on the specified deadline. Our quality control process runs parallel to the production process. Our products pass through the control stage in every process from the design stage until they are shipped. Therefore, our service and approach to the customer has always provided satisfaction.”

As GizGroup, you bring innovation and quality together in bed accessories. What are the innovative products or technologies you have developed recently?
“Combining innovation and quality is a critical strategy for long-term success and competitive advantage. Integrating these two elements requires many areas to work in harmony, from company culture to production processes, from human resources to customer relations. We embrace innovation and quality as the core values of our company. We place these values at the center of all our strategic planning. We set achievable and measurable targets in areas such as R&D investments, technological developments and customer satisfaction.
We invest in R&D activities to support product and process innovations. Thus, we are able to both develop innovative products and improve the quality of existing products. We collect regular feedback from our customers and develop innovative solutions in line with their expectations and needs. By systematically implementing these strategic steps, we aim to be able to offer both innovation and quality in a sustainable manner as a manufacturing company and to increase our competitiveness in the market.”

Environmentally friendly production approach
What is your approach to sustainability and environmental responsibility? Can you give us information about your environmentally friendly practices and projects in your production processes?
“Adopting sustainability and environmental responsibilities will strengthen the long-term success and reputation of our company, as well as increase our sensitivity to the environment. We aim to continuously review processes to reduce environmental impact and make them compliant with current standards.
By making technological investments to increase energy efficiency in production processes and replacing our old machines with technological machines, we reduce our carbon footprint and increase our production speed and quality.”

“We are expanding our target markets in exports”
What about GizGroup’s position in the international market and its export activities? Which countries do you export to and what kind of strategy do you follow in the global market?
“Our main source that strengthens our company’s position in the international market is the fact that we produce all accessory items. With our company’s local collaborations and the potential to provide customized services to each market, our country range is quite wide.
Our export department’s search for target markets continues, and efforts are underway to further expand this range and increase our export capacity through continuous customer travel and fair participation. We aim to provide the best service to our new customers in every respect by being researched the issues such as consumer expectations for target markets and the most appropriate transportation organizations by our operations department.”

Challenges faced in the sector and our adaptation process
What are the biggest challenges you face in the bedding accessories sector and how do you deal with these challenges? How do you adapt to the competition and changing market conditions in the sector?
“The first of the challenges we face is that our raw material supply is made from a wide variety of companies due to the high number of our product items. Our raw material procurement is carried out jointly by the planning and purchasing departments so as not to disrupt our production.
Increasing inflation, changing raw material and labor costs, fixed exchange rates and low prices of our competitor China make it difficult to export to our markets. However, in order not to reduce our customer satisfaction in this regard, we continue to provide services by reducing our costs by providing flexibility to our raw material suppliers and transportation processes.
We update our products and services to changing market conditions by analyzing the comments of our existing customers. We do not stick to specific markets, but also analyze the comments of different geographies comparatively. We adapt to the demands by developing innovative products in line with the demands of our markets.”
