Gemba Makine, a longstanding manufacturer of mattress machines known both in Türkiye and internationally, has relocated its operations from Kayseri to Bursa, a key industrial hub in Türkiye.
After opening an office in Bursa four years ago and establishing a production line last year, Gemba Makine will now manage all its production and commercial activities from this new location. Company owner Kazım Sezerkan emphasized that the move from Kayseri marks a significant transformation for the business and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing innovation in the industry.
Could you tell us about your R&D and innovation activities in 2024?
“As you know, we have recently moved to Bursa and we will carry out all our production activities in Bursa from now on. Moving our factory was a milestone for us. On this occasion, we will continue our changes at full speed. We are currently working to minimize errors caused by the human factor. We are endeavoring to make machines that work completely on the axis of robotic systems and are compatible with artificial intelligence. We are endeavoring to make the best use of technology and to make bed machines in coordination with the world of technology.”
What is your annual production capacity? How many do you expect it to be by the end of the year?
“We have enough production capacity to commission a mattress factory every month.”
Could you tell us about your export policy and the countries you export to?
“We work as 60% export and 40% domestic market. For the moment, we have Balkan countries and Europe in our portfolio. Our target is to have such a wide portfolio in other continents as well.”
Can we get your thoughts on Türkiye’s current situation in the mattress sector and your predictions about what kind of developments will take place in the short and long term?
“The mattress industry in Türkiye is a sector that grows day by day and develops as it grows. However, it is still a sector whose importance and potential are not fully understood. As a company operating in this sector, we are ready to do our best for the rise of the sector.”
