Form Sünger: Anticipating positive outcomes at IBIA Expo 2024
Form Sünger’s International Sales & Marketing Chief, Volkan Yılmaz, expressed high expectations for IBIA Expo 2024, highlighting its significance as the largest bed industry fair in Europe and the second largest globally. Yılmaz anticipates that the event will attract approximately 35,000 visitors from over 100 countries this year.
As a company that exports to more than 60 countries, including markets in America, South Korea, Europe, and the Middle East, Form Sünger regards IBIA Expo as a critical event. Yılmaz emphasized the fair’s substantial contribution to Türkiye’s export sector and affirmed that Form Sünger is fully prepared for the event. He also conveyed confidence that the expo will be productive for all industry stakeholders.
Yılmaz suggested that holding the fair every two years and extending its duration to three days in the future would be beneficial.
Could you tell us about your general predictions about the fair before IBIA Expo 2024?
“The Turkish mattress industry, which contributes to the mattress production sector with a potential of 40 billion dollars with a huge employment of 25 thousand people, ranks 14th in the world production and export ranking. The mattress sub-industry sector in Türkiye is expected to increase its production to 4 billion dollars and exports to 3 billion dollars by the end of 2023. IBIA Expo- 2nd Mattress Supply Industry and Technologies Fair, which is the only fair of the sector in Türkiye, is the largest fair in Eurasia and the 2nd largest fair in the world and is preparing to host more than 35 thousand domestic and foreign buyers from over 100 countries.
In the light of these data, it is obvious how important the fair is and will continue to be for the sector. As Form Sünger, we are preparing for the fair in the best way as a company that exports to more than 60 countries from America to South Korea, from Europe to the Middle East.
We act by considering the contribution of each order we will receive to the national economy and we shape our plans, programs and projects accordingly. We sincerely believe that the fair will be positive for both our company and all participants and stakeholders.”
What are your expectations from the fair as Form Sünger?
“Of course, our first aim and expectation will be to improve our cooperation with our existing customers who will visit us at the fair and to sign new co-operations with potential customer candidates.
In addition to this, as the only PU sponge manufacturer in Turkey’s ISO Top 500 and as the locomotive company of the sector, one of our biggest goals is to convey our work on issues such as sustainability, carbon footprint, green transformation, which have become more and more important in the recent period, and the improvements and developments we have made in our products to our visitors one-to-one.”
Do you have any advice for the fair management or any request from the management?
“We closely follow and appreciate the activities of the fair management for the development of the fair. We believe that it is important to continue the promotional activities of the fair without slowing down because it takes serious work, patience and promotion to ensure that this fair is one of the first fairs that comes to mind like Interzum fair for sector representatives.
We think that it is also important for the development of the fair that the fair is organized every two years, that the fair calendar is adjusted so that it does not come to the weekend and that it is organized in 3 days instead of 4 days.
In previous years, the fair ended on Sundays, this year it will end on Saturday. This is a sign that efforts are being made in parallel with our ideas. New improvements to be made in the coming years will be more beneficial for the fair.”
