Form Sünger; “ISPA EXPO is an exhibition shaping the sector”

İdris Babacan, International Sales and Marketing Manager of Form Sünger, one of the most important participants of ISPA EXPO 2022 Fair, one of the few fairs of the world mattress industry, spoke to Sleeptech a few days before the fair. Babacan, in an interview with our editor colleague; explained the importance of the fair for Form Sünger and the sector, his expectations from the fair and its possible impact on exports.

In his interview, Babacan saying that they expect manufacturers from the America continent, especially the USA, to participate in the fair, conveyed that they expect intense participation from the European and Asian continents as well. Babacan, expressing that the ISPA Fair, which was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic, will also be effective in this, at the statement he made on the subject, said “Every customer we met in the region states that they are looking forward to the fair. The ISPA fair is a fair where the developments that shape the sector are exhibited and the trends are determined. In this context, we anticipate that the participating companies will meet with a large number of new customer candidates who will be interested in the fair apart from their current customers, new products and services will be offered to the market in the short term, and new collaborations will be established in the long term.

Mr. İdris, expressing the importance of USA market for Turkish exporters by saying “With a population of over 330 million and a per capita income of 60 thousand dollars, the USA is a huge market where value-added products can be sold, new opportunities can be found, arousing the desires of every exporting company and always at the top of their market research.” stated that they took part as a participant in 3 ISPA fairs that were held before and that they found new customers and increased their sales figures thanks to these fairs. Babacan, expressing that, as Form Sünger, their expectation from ISPA EXPO 2022 fair is to increase their sales to the USA and their market shares in this country, said that ISPA fair is also very effective regionally, and they aim to increase their activities in Canada and South America countries in addition to the USA market.

İdris Babacan, also mentioned the supply problem caused by the pandemic conditions and the export rates in the Turkish mattress sector, at his statement on the subject; said “Problems in the global supply chain network led companies to different supplier alternatives. Our country offers a high development potential in this process with its strong production capability and customer-oriented approach in the mattress industry. In Turkey, there are important companies, having high export volume, and making manufacture of the sub-industry products needed for both bed and furniture production and the manufacture of these products at a high level. Thanks to the production power and knowledge of these companies, they have a significant market share in the US market. With the ISPA 2022 fair, we believe that the momentum of the increasing sales figures every year will continue to increase.”

Babacan drew attention to the importance of the fairs for the companies and the damage caused by the cancellation of the fairs during the pandemic process, and concluded his interview with the following sentences: “Participation in fairs is an active way of finding customers, in which companies operate in the field, and it is one of the most important ways for companies to gain new customers. Participating in fairs is one of the leading ways of promoting itself and its products, in order to be in a good place on a sectoral basis by increasing the market share of the companies and developing their marketing strategies. In addition to this, it is a fact that the participant companies are also beneficial in important matters such as making new agreements by meeting with their existing customers, solving problems, if there is, by negotiating and observing the developments in the sector on site. Despite many negative situations such as difficulty in accessing raw materials, increasing freight prices, and the environment of uncertainty during the pandemic period, the Turkish exporter worked unselfishly by proving its production power and experience, and made a positive impression all over the world by giving a good test in this process. Thanks to the driving force made by this positive impression, our exporting companies will improve their customer portfolio and increase their sales figures in every sector with the return of the fairs to the pre-pandemic situation.”
