We received information about the general structure and mission of the company from Feridun Tosun, International Sales and Marketing Manager of Boyçelik, which is preferred by customers with its products in the sector.

How was 2020 for you? I especially want you to talk about the pandemic period.

Covid-19, which started in many countries in early 2020 and was seen in our country towards the end of March, affected us as well as every company. Especially the full shutdowns in April caused serious crises in raw material supply chains and production. The whole World economy was seriously affected by the relevant process. In this process, companies that foresee that every crisis will actually be an opportunity, have managed to turn the crisis into an opportunity by taking the right steps. Realizing that complete shutdowns are not possible in terms of the sustainability of the country’s economies, companies need to adapt to the new normal and organize their production factors accordingly, companies have overcome this process with little damage by taking the right decisions. As Boyçelik, the necessary measures were taken during the relevant pandemic period, and our production processes were adjusted to the new norm by making optimum work force, raw material supply and production planning. Bases on the expected fast demand in the international market which we anticipated as of June, our shipments were carried out without delay in customers’ orders.

Can I get information about your production capacity and product range? I also wonder about your usage areas.

Boyçelik is one of the pioneer investments of Erciyes Anadolu Holding, an industrial leader in Turkey and all over the World. The raw material supplier of Europe’s largest bed an furniture manufacturers. Boyçelik, which operates on a total area of 112.000 m², including 62.000 m² closed and 50.000 m²open, operates with 470 personels in 2 enterprises, “Pipe-Profile and Steel Wire-Spring”. Boyçelik company consist of two enterprises that produce an average of 100 thousand tons of steel wire and spring units and 90 thousand tons of pipe profiles annually. Also within of Boyçelik company, there is a Serko Yay company that produces pocket springs in the Kayseri free zone and exports %100 of its production. Boyçelik company is located in ISO 500 and TIM 1000.

What are your most demanded product?

Our company produces steel wire, spring units and pipe-profiles and Exports its related products to approximately 90 countries of the World.

You are extremely interested in innovative products. In this sense, what kind of R&D and innovation processes do you have?

We have an innovation department within our Boyçelik structure. Considering the dynamics of the sector and the demands and desires of the consumer, innovative studies are carried out and new products are offered to the market thanks to our marketing and innovation teams. Our “c cyling” product, which we launched especially in 2021, is a completely environmentally friendly product, and all of it has been produced in accordance with recycling.

How do you provide raw material supply?

We provide completely from domestic production. The world’s most important steel producers are located in our country and we supply from domestic production to support the current account deficit.

I also want to learn the main reasons that make your products different in the sector. How would you express this situation?

The biggest factor that differantiates us is that we get the demands of the consumers well. It is that we offer the products that we think will be in demand in the market at the desired quality when the consumer wants.

 

Which countries do you export to and what is your export target for 2021? Also, what is the ratio of your exports to your total sales?

As Boyçelik, we export to 90 countries. We aim to export to 100 countries in 2021. Our export rate is %40 in our total sales.

Boyçelik is one of the leading companies in the sector and a preffered brand. Our only goal is to ensure our sustainability in our industry. To deliver our products to our customers all over the World.
