Dolphin Pack was founded in 1974 by Alberto Zaninelli. Initially the company manufactured small machinery for food and beverage packaging, like sweets box packaging. The company is still family owned, by brother and sister Davide and Elisa. Davide Zaninelli is Owner and CEO. Elisa Zaninelli is Owner and financial manager. Davide follows the Technical and Sales aspect of the company while Elisa follows the Production and Administrative.

From 1972 till 1990 the company has grown started focusing on bigger product to pack and producing bigger packaging machines. In 1990 Davide and Elisa took over the company and started entering in Polyurethane and bedding world. Staring from the end of ’90s Dolphin Pack started producing wrapping machines for mattresses and since then bedding industry has become the main market covering 55% of the request the company receives from prospects and active customers and of course of the active production it works on. “Bedding industry has grown fast in the last five years, as flexible PU foam one. The reason for that, in our opinion, is due to the flexibility of the product and to the different ways in which it can be packed (mattresses can be packed and rolled up; compressed, folded and rolled up). This packaging solutions allow mattresses producers to reduce transport costs due to volume reduction. On the other hand, final consumers have the possibility to buy a mattress on the net, through e-commerce platform.

New purchase habits mean new innovative packaging necessities: the necessity of reducing transport
cost and improving the maneuverability of the product once packed has created the request from our customers to improve packaging technologies. We are manufacturers and it is in our nature to take up the challenge to find new solutions.”
