CIFM / interzum guangzhou returns with packed lineup of activities
* Asia’s leading event in the woodworking machinery, furniture production and interior design industry, CIFM / interzum guangzhou generated huge volume of trade as every year, March 28-31, 2018. Concurrently held with the second phase of CIFF (China International Furniture Fair) the event impressed all fields of the industry.
Celebrating its 15th edition, the impressive and gigantic show of the woodworking machinery, furniture production and interior design industry was first introduced into the China market in 2004. The event originated from interzum (Since 1959) by Koelnmesse GmbH, one of the largest trade fair companies in the world with 90 years of professional experience. The show has developed into a premier platform for regional buyers to source for furniture production equipment, raw materials, and offers a window into the industry’s future.
Billed as Asia’s largest and most comprehensive woodworking machinery, furniture materials and interior decor trade fair, the four-day gathering delivered an all-new experience to nearly 80,000 industry insiders from over 100 countries and regions.
Once again, this year’s CIFM/interzum guangzhou was held in conjunction with the second installment of the famed China International Furniture Fair (CIFF). The parallel events served as a one-stop sourcing platform to meet the different needs of buyers.
CIFM / interzum guangzhou 2018 has again attracted very quality exhibitors and it has become the main meeting point of the industry as soon as it opened its doors in the morning of March 28th. The following four days saw the flow of professionals from all fields of the furniture production and interior design along with office furniture, woodworking machinery and services for all segments.
With smaller apartment sizes, customizing furniture was an effective way of maximizing space usage – something which traditional finished furniture is not able to achieve, thus the industry’s vitality. As China’s home furnishing market and urbanization continue to experience rapid development in recent years, growth of the custom furniture market has been fast tracked. The main consumers of custom-made furniture are the middle and high-end groups who are concerned with the art of living as well as the design-conscious post-80s and 90s, fully demonstrating the consumers’ pursuit of personality, fashion, comfort and environmental friendliness. This development has also shifted consumers’ focus to raw and auxiliary materials, such as wood panels, worktops, handles, sliding tracks and hinges. The use of well-known brands has become a key factor in distinguishing the grade of custom furniture. Seizing this growth potential, a Custom Furniture Suppliers zone was launched at the international hall area this year to gather well-known custom furniture suppliers from abroad with product categories covering wood panels, decorative materials, furniture hardware and upholstery and accessories. Custom furniture manufacturers, interior decor companies and interior designers can learn about innovative products, cutting-edge technology and the development trends of custom furniture. CIFM / interzum guangzhou covers an area of 150,000 square meters and spans 17 exhibition halls over Area B and C of Pazhou Complex. Area B had been dedicated to machinery exhibits, comprising machinery and related tools for woodworking, mattress, cutting and sewing, while Area C was focused on furniture accessories. Displays included furniture hardware and accessories, wood panels, countertops, surfaces, wood products, adhesives, fillers, upholstery accessories, pneumatic components, and interior decoration materials. The international exhibits zone took up Hall 11.1 and 12.1 in Area B, and Hall 14.1 and 15.1 in Area C comprehensively showcasing quality raw materials and machinery from abroad. “interzum guangzhou is built upon the basis of interzum, the world’s leading furniture production trade fair, which has nearly 60 years of history. After 15 years of hard work, I’m very pleased to see that the interzum brand can take root and flourish in China. Our exhibitors have given great recognition to the interzum guangzhou platform, and the industry is optimistic about the future potential of China as the world’s largest furniture production base. Moving forward, we will work harder to bring more international advanced furniture manufacturing product concepts and cutting-edge technology to China,” said Mr Denis Steker, Vice President International / Outbound Fairs of Koelnmesse GmbH. New insights and solutions Another noteworthy offering of CIFM / interzum guangzhou each year is undoubtedly its lineup of seminars, technical exchanges, conferences and product launches at the International Halls. Held by the chief designer of German-based Renolit Group, Ms Monika Fecht, who is also director of US-based Color Marketing Group (CMG), the Colour Road 2018 / 2019 Trends Conference provided home furnishing enterprises and furniture makers with an important basis for their product design and development. In addition, guest speaker Mr. Li Bo, Leuco Asia’s managing director also shedded light on how Industry 4.0 is expected to impact the future of furniture manufacturing enterprises. Attendees also deepened their understanding and learned about the latest development trends on adjustable desks with linear actuator systems at a seminar hosted by LINAK Transmission Systems. Other insightful forums that took place at International Hall 14.1 included “Mattress Trends Around the World” organized by Boyteks Tekstil A.S. and presented by Dr. Gokmen Kara of the company; and “The Beauty of Made-in-China Products” by Cossla Enterprise. Recognizing innovative furniture accessories Following the special feature display “Unveiling – The Mysteries of Furniture Production” in 2017, the launch of the “20 PLUS 20 Annual List” this edition was another initiative by interzum guangzhou to promote outstanding innovative design within the furniture production industry. The innovation of furniture accessories is the driving force behind the development of the furniture industry. With the release of the list, the organizer also aims to actively recognize and encourage innovative brands and products in the furniture manufacturing field. The top 20 products that made it to the “20 PLUS 20 Annual List” were on display outside International Hall 15.1. Exhibits span product categories such as upholstery accessories, hardware accessories, pneumatic components, and decorative materials. #CIFM, #DenisSteker, #furniture |
