Yiğit Durak, Board Member and Marketing Director of Durak Tekstil: “We met new customers and solution partners by taking part in this fair, which is considered valuable in the global market.”
Yiğit Durak, who made evaluations about the fair after the Interzum Cologne Fair, said that Turkish companies represented our country very well in Cologne, and that the success achieved in the mattress industry was registered with this fair. Yiğit Durak, who stated that the companies in the mattress industry and exhibiting at the fair had a good experience in adapting to international competition and branding processes, emphasized sustainability and recycling while referring to the products they exhibited at the fair. The words expressed by Yiğit Durak on the subject are as follows; “As in previous years, we took part in Interzum 2023 with our products that focus on increasing production efficiency, especially in the mattress industry. In addition, we have prioritized our GOTS and GRS certified sustainable yarns. In today’s conditions, sustainability is not limited to using only recycled products. At the same time, working efficiently to conserve natural resources and producing long-lasting products have also become essential parts of sustainability. While presenting our products with technical features, increasing efficiency and meeting sustainability criteria, we also told the industry that we, as Durak Tekstil, are producing in a green cycle.” Durak answered our questions:
With which products did you take part in the Interzum Fair, which products and applications did you highlight?
Interzum is a very important global event for furniture and interior decoration manufacturers. As Durak Tekstil, we exhibited our industrial sewing and embroidery threads by participating in this fair held in Cologne between 9-12 May in Hall 10.1 Stand C019. Our basic concept is nature, technology and art experience with Durak. In recent years, we have shared our important developments and vision on these issues with our visitors. As in previous years, we exhibited our products focused on increasing production efficiency, especially in the mattress industry, at the Interzum 2023 fair. In addition, we have prioritized our GOTS and GRS certified sustainable yarns. In today’s conditions, sustainability is not limited to using only recycled products. At the same time, working efficiently to conserve natural resources and producing long-lasting products have also become essential parts of sustainability. While presenting our products with technical features, increasing efficiency and meeting sustainability criteria, we also told the industry that we, as Durak Tekstil, are producing in a green cycle.
What are your expectations from Interzum Fair? Which markets do you aim to reach?
The fair was very active this year, as in previous years. The clear overcoming of the effects of the pandemic and the serious activity in the global markets also made the fair extra active. We met with manufacturers from all over the world at the Interzum Fair. Visitors from Europe, North and South America and the Middle East region, which stand out especially among our target markets, showed great interest. Considering the application variety of our industrial sewing and embroidery threads, I can say that we have advantages for every region and every market.
What effect did the fair have on your exports? Can we get your analysis?
Durak Tekstil is a company that has largely turned its direction to exports, so it has restructured its entire structure, from our production processes to marketing, sales and service. Interzum is an exhibition that has had a positive impact on our export volume for many years. We met new customers and business partners by taking part in this fair, which is considered valuable in the global market. In this process, being entitled to enter the Turquality Brand Support Program gives us more power in exports.
What impact did the fair have on the Turkish mattress components industry?
A large number of Turkish companies participated in the Interzum Fair. This confirms Turkey’s success in the mattress and sub-industry. Turkish manufacturers are in a position to serve the world, both in terms of raw materials, machinery and technology. At this point, I think it is very important for our producers to protect their values and work towards branding. In this context, Interzum Fair both gave our manufacturers a good experience in the branding process and adaptation to global competition, and provided a good vision for sustainable business.
