Doqu Home Export Chief Bilal Ölçekçioğlu answered the questions of our magazine editor Furkan Akar before the Sleep Expo Middle East fair.
Ölçekçioğlu said in interview that Turkey has become the epicenter for many sectors, including mattresses, due to global supply concerns. Ölçekçioğlu also said that although they are new in the market and export, they have significant experience in the sector and their designs overlap with the Middle East market.
How do you expect the Sleep Expo Middle East Fair, which will be held for the 3rd time this year, to have an influence on the Turkish mattress sector?
Turkey is becoming an epicenter for most of the industries including bedding due to supply concerns arising in global markets. This Sleep Expo ME Edition will help raise awareness about quality and capacity of Turkish manufacturers. Turkey looks to abroad markets more and more and I think this show has a crucial importance to Turkish manufacturers to show their strength in GCC.
What are your expectations from the Sleep Expo Middle East Fair as a firm?
We are newcomer in the industry as well as export markets however our visibility is increasing tremendously in Turkey by new stores opening throughout the country. We strongly believe our product line reflects a well match to Middle Eastern markets hence Doqu Home is going to be rising star of GCC markets in coming years.
After the fair, what kind of an influence do you expect Turkish companies to have in the Middle East market, especially in the UAE?
UAE has always been a gate to GCC markets for not only Turkish investors but also other Western Hemisphere. Improving relationships between Turkey and UAE will lead to more investments from Turkey to exploit future business chances. Dubai and other cities In the UAE offers Turkish companies easy to do business environment as well as a good deal of demand. I think we will see more Turkish companies running in the UAE and GCC markets.
