DAHMEN Textilmaschinen GmbH from Germany was the first in Europe to develop and built multi needle quilting machines. The pro-duct portfolio grew over the decades and now encompasses entire industrial quilting lines from feeder stations to cross and edge cut-ting devices even with ultrasonic technology, winding equipment and many more. With over 70 years of ex-perience and more than 800 machines operating worldwide it belongs to the leading manufacturers in that field. Customers can be found in the mattress & bedding industry, upholstery, garment and fashion as well as technical and functional textile industry.
The mattress and bedding industry is the most important partner sector for DAH-MEN nowadays. Customers from DAHMEN’s CHAINTRONIC 4 + PANELMASTER ULTRASONIC – the new innovative
milestones in industrial quilting for the mattress and bedding industry more advanced and their requirements grow along with their business. “Reliability, quilting quality and consistency, flexibility, productivity, safety and customer service are the key aspects of our customers’ investment making decisions” says DAHMEN´s Managing Director Dr. Eric Ringhut. Since he took over the business in 2008 he clearly pushed DAHMEN’s innovation track which brought about many innovations that are to be found on DAHMEN’s multineedle lockstitch and chainstitch machines since then. The most dominant and visible statement, that DAHMEN made regarding technological achievements will be presented at this year’s INTERZUM in Cologne:
The CHAINTRONIC 4 in combination with our brandnew PANELMASTER ULTRASONIC. The CHAINTRONIC 4 is now DAHMEN´s new flagship for multineedle chainstitch quilting machines.
The mattress and bedding industry is exposed to significant international competition. Productivity and therefore unit cost control are key to financial success. Therefore, DAHMEN put emphasis on developing its CHAINTRONIC to offer a true oneman operation machine. Increase of productivity, completely reengineered control with continuous movements on all axes, an additional servomotor for the reverse bar, top material tubs instead of bars, easy and toolfree lock systems for paper rolls and a toolfree adjustment for the press plate even during quilting are only some examples of the many features that come with every CHAINTRONIC to make it very easy and comfortable to operate.
The machine can be connected to the Internet for remote diagnosis and online help. Also the pattern range is impressive. “Quilting sharp 90° edges or perfectly round circles is not an easy task. Many competitive machines cannot do that because the mechanics and the computer controls are not properly laid out. With our CHAINTRONIC the customer will be excited about the quilting results. Even quilting of several layers of foam, latex and wadding is not a problem including tackandjump” says Dr. Ringhut.
With the new development of the PANELMASTER ULTRASONIC DAHMEN offers now a serious alternative to a standard mattresspanel sewing and cutting machine. No thread consumption anymore during cutting and closing all edges and very easy to maintain.
DAHMEN’s customer service is well known in the market and widely appreciated. “Immediate response times, charge pattern programming service and worldwide support are standards for us.” Service and maintenance are highly important aspects. Companies investing money in state of the art technology want to see a return. The return can only be generated when the machine runs. “Breakdowns, malfunctions and slow service can be painful when you work on a big size customer order with tight schedules and margins that leave little room for unplanned cost.” The very robust design of the CHAINTRONIC was especially made for the requirements of the mattress and bedding sector, which often operates its machine park on a 2 or 3 shift time schedules. Also regarding financing DAHMEN belongs to one of the most innovative companies. It offers consumption based financing plans that allow the customer to synchronize his sales with his financing duties. In addition, the model offered is very transparent and allows to easily calculate per Meter cost for every pattern produced.
