During the Interzum Trade Fair 2015 in Cologne, DesleeClama launched its new collection with the name IMAGINE. Five key styles mixed with emerging trends cover the world of different tastes. The DesleeClama’s design team is always on the outlook for upcoming fashion trends in different market segments globally, which drives them to compose a wide variety of brand-new looks that meet every customer or consumer in his own style.
Five distinct trend styles that cover the world
The five distinct trend styles of the DesleeClama Collection are Pure, Classic-Transitional, Fusion, Romantic-Wellness and Haute Couture. These styles help the customer create a total sleeping concept, including border, upholstery and mattress fabrics. Within each of these styles, the DesleeClama design team has developed several themes or stories that translate perfectly the hot trends of today and tomorrow.
PURE stands for soft elegance, subtle motifs, gray and blue, balance and structures. For instance, the theme “Dandy Patterns” refers to an upcoming trend of classic male patterns in unusual contexts: the random shapes on men’s ties and suits are now printed on a vase, carpet or sofa to create a fresh look
CLASSIC-TRANSITIONAL alludes to earth tones, classical motifs, tranquillity, style & class and medallions. A good example is the “Neo Paisley” theme that balances large-scale designs with a focus on detail. These heavy weight fabrics pay tribute to their Persian origins and boast highly luxurious looks.
FUSION brings up adjectives such as modern, bright, straightforward, playful; has linear motifs and refers to youth. One of the remarkable themes is “Memento”, which is the answer to the zoning of the mattresses. The fabrics in the centre of the mattress have a lot of volume, whereas they are much smaller in the head and foot zones. The designs underline these zones with abstract, displaying waves and small geometric patterns.
ROMANTIC-WELLNESS reflects soft pastels, nature patterns, wavy designs and romance. Themes as “Distinct Flowers” with the oral patterns and “Natural Motives” inspired by nature set the tone. A big trend in interior design is “Patchwork” or designs that merge flower patterns with geometric structures.
HAUTE COUTURE echoes purple and gray tones, luxury and fashion. It seems that people can’t get enough of shining effects in gold and silver, but different this season is that the theme “Glitter Glory” brings more striking designs in straightforward color combinations combined with that glittery touch of gold and silver. Another big worldwide trend is “Gradient” or effects that fade out from one color into another, or from a color into a plain white surface.
In each style, a range of matching borders in many different qualities and colors is presented. However, thanks to the broad scope of the five different styles in combination with the more specific themes, DesleeClama creates an environment where mattress manufacturers and retailers have the opportunity to freely mix and match across different styles, according to the color, the concept or the confection of the total sleeping solution.
All fabric designs, fabrics and sleeping solutions are available in the online iDC Cloud App. This tool allows a mattress producer or retailer to simulate any bed concept, to save the configurations they created, to refine them afterwards and even to order them – just in a few simple clicks. The greatest advantage of this tool is that it is available in the cloud and can be reached from anywhere in the world. In some cases the App already serves as some kind of virtual showroom that guides any kind of customer, even the end user, through the collection. “The integration of different design and manufacturing steps into one application in the cloud will help customers streamline their design process and save both time and money”, emphasizes Ben Ducatteeuw, Managing Director, DesleeClama iDC Innovation & Design Center.
Once the basic mattress concept is ready, sales people can easily configure the mattress within the defined customization constraints. Detailed design proposals can be elaborated together with mattress manufacturers. This gives them instantly a highly realistic 3D-image of the final product, either on screen or online, and a price quote based on the options that are chosen. In this way, customers get a clear view on how the full package of designs for mattress panels, borders, headboards and bases will look like on a real bed. The iDC App enables the mattress manufacturer or retailer to freewheel about the complete concept that they had in mind, and mix and match infinitely.
Brand-new iDC Designer Software
Recently, DesleeClama also developed the cloud-based iDC Designer Software that enables designers to create a mattress concept from scratch. Thanks to this tool, it is possible to place the complete concept in a wider context by choosing the desired height, corners, edges and quilt patterns of the mattress.
Within a few clicks the mattress base is ready to be dressed up. Select the fabric, borders, zippers, tubes, etc. in the shape, color and texture you prefer. This innovation was one of the reasons why DesleeClama in 2014 was nominated ‘Hidden Champion’ by Voka (the Flemish Chamber of Commerce) and Professor Hermann Simon, an authority in business management. Hidden Champions continuously question themselves on how they can best serve their niche market, adapt to new trends and stay strong amid global competition.
